Schools may be back after the summer holidays (just as the hot weather returns, too) but that didn’t stop this family putting harvest on pause for a picnic.

Instead of the more traditional, formal celebratory feast associated with the end of the harvest season, this family at Littlefield Farm in Aberchirder, Huntly opted for a quick field supper.

The combine can be seen parked up in the distance, perhaps out for its final outing as another year’s harvest wraps up.
